Taron Egerton Stars In First Trailer For ‘Robin Hood’

Get your first look at Taron Egerton as Robin of Loxely in Lionsgate's Robin Hood re-telling.

Lionsgate Films has released the first official trailer for Robin Hood, which is the latest attempt at bringing the iconic legend back to the big screen. The film will introduce Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as the fabled Robin of Loxley, and we finally have our first look at what appears to be a fun and action-packed re-telling.

Watch the trailer below:

It definitely looks like Robin Hood will take the Batman approach to the legend, with Taron Egerton’s version of Robin performing his heroic crimes by night, while pretending to be a corrupt follower of the Crown by day. In comparison to Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe’s dark and gloomy re-telling, it looks like this Robin Hood will be an action-packed and fun adventure movie, with more franchise potential.

Lionsgate also revealed the first official posters of the movie, which give us another look at Egerton’s Robin, along with Jamie Foxx as Little John. Take a look for yourself in the gallery below:

Directed by Otto Bathurst, Robin Hood stars Taron Egerton (Robin Hood), Jamie Foxx (Little John), Ben Mendelsohn (Sheriff of Nottingham), Tim Minchin (Friar Tuck), Eve Hewson (Maid Marian) and Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet.

Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.
