Rumour: ‘Mission: Impossible’ Director Christopher McQuarrie Eyed for ‘Green Lantern Corps’

Warner Bros. is finally making some progress with the Green Lantern Corps movie.

According to That Hashtag Show, Warner Bros. Pictures is eyeing Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Jack Reacher director Christopher McQuarrie for the upcoming Green Lantern Corps film.

McQuarrie has some experience with major franchises, having worked on the fifth and now sixth instalments of the popular Mission: Impossible series. Another interesting thing about this rumour is that That Hashtag Show speculates about the possibility of Tom Cruise joining the Green Lantern Film as Hal Jordan. McQuarrie has worked with Cruise on multiple projects, not to mention the fact that Cruise’s name appeared on the shortlist of actors in contention for the role last year. If you think about it, Tom Cruise could actually be an interesting and exciting pick for Hal Jordan, especially when you hear that the film will feature an older, more experienced Jordan teaching a younger John Stewart.

It’s worth noting that this is still very much a rumour, but it’s exciting to hear that Warner Bros. is continuing to develop the Green Lantern Corps movie.
