Jurassic World 3 Release Date Set For 2021

Universal Pictures has announced when the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy will land in cinemas.

The  Jurassic World sequel doesn’t land in cinemas for another few months, but Universal Pictures is already getting prepared for the third film in the franchise. The studio just announced that Jurassic World 3 will be released June 11, 2021.

Emily Carmichael will write the script for Jurassic World 3 with Colin Trevorrow, who directed 2015’s Jurassic World and co-wrote the sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Carmichael’s previous work includes co-writing Pacific Rim Uprising, which will arrive in cinemas this March. The third Jurassic World movie doesn’t currently have a director. J.A. Bayona directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but we shouldn’t expect him to return for the third and final chapter of the trilogy. Trevorrow recently talked about the third movie, stating that he’s excited to introduce new creative voices to the franchise.

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” says Trevorrow. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. (Bayona, who has directed the second movie) has brought to Fallen Kingdom, and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

The second movie in the Jurassic World franchise will be released on June 22, 2018.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.
