Marvel's Black Panther is dominating the global box-office with a record-breaking weekend.

Marvel’s Black Panther has smashed box office expectations and records, bringing in an estimated $387 million in its opening weekend.

Black Panther gave Marvel/Disney the fifth largest three-day domestic opening in history and is currently expected to land around $218 million for the four-day weekend. The film is also the largest February opening of all-time, beating the previous record holder, Deadpool. Internationally, Black Panther grossed an estimated $169 million from 48 markets for a global debut of $361 million, the fifteenth largest global opening weekend of all-time.

Comparing it to other Marvel properties, Black Panther‘s opening weekend defeated Avengers: Age of Ultron ($191.2 million) and even beat Captain America: Civil War ($179.1 million), which featured a large collection of Marvel heroes. The only film to beat Black Panther is Joss Whedon’s The Avengers, which brought in $207.8 million for Marvel/Disney.
