Michael Peña Discusses ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’ And Teases A Possible Third Film

Michael Peña teases the return of Luis in Marvel's Ant-Man And The Wasp.

While promoting his upcoming film 12 Strong, Michael Peña teased Luis’ return to the Marvel Universe in Ant-Man And The Wasp. Speaking to IGN, Peña discussed how things have changed for his character since the events of the first film. We already know that Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man has become an international fugitive, thanks to his small role in Captain America: Civil War, but how have things changed for his best-buddy?

“I can’t really say because I guess they’re good buddies, they’ve always been good buddies and I think they’re remaining good buddies. I’ve got to be very vague, very general, but I guess he’s following more of the American dream and trying to better himself. He loves that universe and everybody knows Tony Stark and those guys. I guess he’s just trying to make his life better. I think that’s the best way to say it.”

Peña isn’t the only Marvel actor to appear in 12 Strong, as the film also features Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. IGN asked Peña if he and Hemsworth talked about Marvel on set, and it seems like it was the ice-breaker for these two actors.

“We talked about it on the first day. It’s a whole different kind of club to be in, the Marvel Universe. I don’t know if they’ll use me for the third movie, I still really don’t know. It’s cool to make a little bit of a mark on that Marvel Universe and it’s kind of a cool club, they run a really cool studio.”

It’s exciting to hear Peña mention a third Ant-Man movie, although it should be said that a third film hasn’t been announced by Marvel Studios. It is likely that the studio is planning and mapping out a third Ant-Man movie, simply because the first movie was incredibly popular and Marvel typically gives its heroes three solo films.

Ant-Man and the Wasp lands in theatres on July 6, 2018!
