Michael B. Jordan Took Inspiration From Heath Ledger’s Joker For His ‘Black Panther’ Villain

Michael B. Jordan took inspiration from the best baddies of all-time to discover his Black Panther villain, Killmonger.

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done an excellent job of building a world and developing good heroes, it hasn’t had a perfect track record when it comes to villains. No villain in the current MCU has managed to reach the heights of Heath Ledger’s Joker, but things might be about to change.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Michael B. Jordan (Creed) has revealed that he took inspiration from Ledger’s performance to create his Black Panther villain, Killmonger.

“You see performances as an actor, and as a fan, you look at Heath Ledger’s performance, say, in The Dark Knight, and it’s like, ‘Wow.’ I want to try to get something like that. You want Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. Just trying to find my place amongst those roles, and strive for that, even if I don’t make it.”

While we won’t know if Jordan succeeded until February, it’s exciting to know that the actor is at least attempting to give audiences something special.
