The future of the Deadpool franchise is up in the air as Disney finalises the deal to buy most of Fox, but that won’t stop the film’s star Ryan Reynolds from having a little fun. The actor posted a new piece of art for the film on Twitter, showing the infamous Merc laying comfy alongside Josh Brolin’s Cable. In the artwork, the two characters are shown recreating Michelangelo’s the creation of Adam, with Cable aiming a gun at Deadpool.
Check out the new artwork below:
As you can see in the image, the official tagline for Deadpool 2 seems to be “The Second Coming,” which clearly works perfectly. The ship might have sailed, but can we please make this the official title?
Reynolds also took to his social media to celebrate the aforementioned Disney-Fox deal, releasing an image of Deadpool being escorted away from Disneyland. This would seem to suggest that Reynolds isn’t too worried about his future as the Merc and is excited to explore the many comedic doors that this deal opens.
Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand, Morena Baccarin, Jack Kesy, T.J. Miller, Stefan Kapičić, Julian Dennison, and Leslie Uggams returning as Blind Al.
The film will land in theatres on June 1, 2018!
