Daisy Ridley Is Done With Star Wars Movies After Episode IX

Daisy Ridley has revealed that she won't return to the Star Wars franchise after Star Wars: Episode IX.

As fans prepare to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi and learn more about Daisy Ridley’s Rey, the actress is already discussing Episode IX and beyond. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ridley revealed that she doesn’t expect to return after the events of Episode IX, which she is already signed on and confirmed for.

See what Ridley said below:

No, no, no. I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it’s three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out.

While many fans might have expected or hoped for Daisy Ridley to return as Rey, this news isn’t exactly surprising. Once this new trilogy has been released, the Star Wars Saga will explore a new region of the universe, with a trilogy from Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson. Of course, we could see Rey again in the future, similar to how Star Wars: The Force Awakens saw the return of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. For now, it sounds like Ridley is ready to take a break from the franchise and explore other projects.
