As promised with yesterday’s brief fan clip and teaser poster, Marvel Studios has released the first official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. The trailer, which teases the third Avengers film and sets-up various crossovers, also offers a great look at the long-awaited villain, Thanos.
While Thanos was first introduced in The Avengers and has since appeared in films like Guardians of the Galaxy, the character has never had a large role in any MCU movie. That will all change with Avengers: Infinity War as the titan comes to earth seeking the remaining Infinity Stones.
Watch the trailer below:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artefacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Infinity War stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Josh Brolin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Paul Bettany, Tom Hiddleston, and Robert Downey Jr.
Avengers: Infinity War will land in theatres on May 4, 2018!
