Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot, starring Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) as Lara Croft.
Tomb Raider is the third adaptation of the popular video-game series, although this version is based on the 2013 video game, which acted as a reboot for the character and the franchise. In the trailer, we meet a young Lara Croft as she sets out on an adventure to discover why her father went missing years earlier. We also get a first look at Walton Goggins (Justified) as the villain and Daniel Wu (Into The Badlands) as a ship captain who helps Lara in her mission.
Watch the trailer below:

Hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance, Croft embarks on a perilous journey to his last-known destination — a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. The stakes couldn’t be higher as Lara must rely on her sharp mind, blind faith and stubborn spirit to venture into the unknown.
