Matthew Vaughn Is Interested In Making A ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie

In an interview with Cinemablend, Matthew Vaughn revealed that he's interested in directing a Fantastic Four movie.

While the Fantastic Four have had a successful career on the pages of comic books, the superhero team has had a dreadful time at the cinema. After two failed attempts to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen, it wouldn’t be surprising to hear that Fox had thrown the team away and never looked back, but now a pretty big director is interested in giving them a shot.

Fox Boss Reveals ‘New Mutants’ Movie Details

In an interview with CinemablendKingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn revealed that he is a big fan of the Fantastic Four and feels an obligation to properly bring them to Hollywood. It’s also worth noting that Reeves has had talks with Warner Bros. to helm a Superman movie, so it looks like he’s more than interested in jumping into the superhero world.

“The other one I’ve felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them. It’s brilliant. One of my favourites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake.”

While all three of the Fantastic Four movies have been disappointing, it’s still exciting to see that a director like Matthew Vaughn is interested in the property. I for one would much prefer to see what Vaughn could do with Superman, but I’d still love to see what he could do with the Fantastic Four.

  1. I like that they keep trying, it’s nice to know they care lol

Personally I think Fantastic Four would be more suitably adapted to a television series. There’s just something about the formula that isn’t working for the big screen.

But hell what do I know?!

    1. Yeah there’s definitely something that’s not working.

To be fair, since Deadpool they seem to have a better grasp of the direction and identity of their Marvel films. Maybe, with a better director they could do it justice.
