According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is looking to cast one of Hollywood’s biggest actors in the upcoming Joker film. THR reports that the studio is looking at Oscar winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio to portray the iconic Batman villain, in what will be the first of several standalone DC projects.

THR also claims that Martin Scorsese isn’t signed on to produce the project, although the studio wants him in their corner when they go after DiCaprio.

As for Jared Leto, the actor will still portray the Joker in the DC Extended Universe and the upcoming Joker And Harley Quinn movie, although THR reports that the actor was taken by surprise when the standalone Joker movie was announced and isn’t happy about another actor portraying the role.
