As Star Wars: The Last Jedi approaches its December release date, some new details are starting to emerge online, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have a better idea of what Finn (John Boyega) will be up to when the film lands in theatres.
Talking to EW, Boyega discussed how Finn’s journey hasn’t changed after the events of The Force Awakens, and according to the actor, Finn is still hoping to live in peace, away from the conflict.
See what Boyega said below:
“It got really real for him, and he just wants to get away and not be involved. His intention in the first place was to go to the Outer Rim. He was always brought back [in The Force Awakens,], but this is his chance to get away and perhaps find Rey and go off together. He’s trying to do that at first. Everyone in the space, throughout the galaxy, would have heard about the young Jedi who discovered her powers and defeated Kylo Ren and the young former Stormtrooper who helped save the day. He’s a hero to people like Rose, who fight for the Resistance because their homes have been destroyed by the First Order.”
Star Wars: The Last Jedi lands in theatres on December 15, 2017. The film stars Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Leia), Oscar Isaac (Poe), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose), Gwendoline Christie (Phasma), Domhnall Gleeson (Hux), and Andy Serkis as Snoke.
