According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) is in talks to voice the villainous Scar in Disney’s live-action reimagining of The Lion King.
Jon Favreau, who successfully remade The Jungle Book, will direct The Lion King, which already has a pretty impressive cast. Donald Glover (Atlanta) will voice Simba, while James Earl Jones will return to voice Mufasa. Other cast members include Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner and John Oliver.
In the animated classic, Scar was famously voiced by Jeremy Irons. The character is possibly Disney’s most beloved (or hated) animated villain.
Jon Favreau’s The Lion King will surely be a visual treat. While the film will be entirely made of CGI characters and settings, Favreau will bring his experience and knowledge to make a realistic version of the story.
The Lion King is currently filming in Los Angeles.
