You might have waited 14 years to see what happened to your favourite superhero family, but only moments have passed for the characters. Brad Birds highly anticipated sequel to The Incredibles will pick up just moments after the first movie. Released in 2004, The Incredibles has become one of Pixar’s most beloved movies, with fans clamouring for over a decade to see a sequel.
While speaking to IGN, Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter revealed that The Incredibles 2 won’t feature a time jump, and will begin immediately after the first movie.
“It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on, it starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that’s where start this movie.”
If you’ll remember, The Incredibles ended with the Underminer erupting from the ground, causing endless destruction. It was a cliffhanger that lasted over a decade but we’ll finally know what happens next when The Incredibles 2 lands in theatres.
