While the current status of the Han Solo movie is unknown and slightly worrying, one of the stars has helped to calm the waters by saying that the project is in “capable hands” with new director Ron Howard. Woody Harrelson recently sat down with Uproxx and briefly discussed the upcoming Star Wars project.
Harrelson will play Han’s mentor Beckett in the film and, according to the actor, we have nothing to be worried about. When asked if Howard’s arrival helped calm the chaos after Lord and Miller left, Harrelson perfectly delivered hope that the director can salvage the film:
“Oh, you can relax, man – because obviously the Force is with us.”
Harrelson then went on to discuss his admiration for Ron Howard, and also sent some love to the films previous directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller:
“Ron is great. He’s awesome. He’s such a gentleman and so prepared. And I loved Chris and Phil. But I think we did land in very capable hands.”
There is still a lot of mystery surrounding the Han Solo project, and I doubt we will ever fully understand why Lord and Miller were pushed away from the project. Either way, it’s exciting to hear that Harrelson isn’t worried about the movie and I now have more confidence that Lucasfilm will deliver yet another exciting Star Wars movie. Woody Harrelson can be next seen in War For The Planet Of The Apes, which will land in theatres later this week.
