Jon Favreau’s The Lion King is one of the most exciting projects currently in development and the project just secured a major addition. According to The Wrap, late night host John Oliver has been cast as Zazu, the red-billed hornbill who acts as an advisor to both Mufasa and Simba. The character was originally voiced by Rowan Atkinson in the 1994 animated feature.

John Oliver is probably best known for his work on The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. The actor has also had a wide variety of acting roles including voice acting in projects such as Rick and MortyBob’s Burgers, and The Simpsons.

Jon Favreau’s The Lion King already boasts an impressive cast, with Donald Glover voicing Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, and James Earl Jones returning as Mufasa.
