After more than a few rumours sparked earlier this week, Marvel fans have something to be happy about, because we’ll be seeing at least one familiar face when Captain Marvel lands in theatres. Deadline is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Nick Fury in Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.
Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t appeared in an MCU movie since his brief role in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The character of Nick Fury has been a significant player in the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first appearing in the after credits scene of Iron Man in 2008.
Captain Marvel will be the first female lead superhero movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is directed by Half Nelson directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. The film is expected to begin production in February and will land in theatres on March 8, 2019. Brie Larson will play the character and is rumoured to have a role in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
