Sony Pictures has released two new posters for The Dark Tower, the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s best-selling book series. The posters give us a new look at The Gunslinger aka. Roland Deschain, aka. the Gunslinger, and Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black.
The Dark Tower is one of my most anticipated movies of the Summer, although it doesn’t seem like Sony is overly confident in the project. There has been very little marketing for the film, excluding one trailer and various posters. I have very little confidence that the film will be financially successful and honestly, the only hope this film has of doing well at the box-office is good reviews and great word of mouth. Hopefully, these posters mark the beginning of a larger marketing campaign, one that will bring new fans to the movie.
Check out the posters below:
There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.
The Dark Tower stars Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee, and Jackie Earle Haley. The film is directed by Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair). The film will land in theatres on August 4, 2017.
