One of my biggest issues with previous MCU instalments is the lack of villain motivation. I feel like Marvel focuses more on telling a great story for the hero and don’t often care much about developing an entertaining backstory for the villains. Thankfully, an actor like Michael Keaton is able to add depth to a character and I can happily say that I am extremely excited to see what The Vulture is capable of in this film, and what motivates him as a Spider-Man villain. I’m already hearing great things about Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with most critics identifying the character as one of the best components of the movie.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Michael Keaton as Vulture, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
