Sony Pictures is developing quickly on the upcoming Venom movie. We learned earlier this week that the film will exist within the same universe as Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and now some interesting new details have surfaced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the villainous Carnage will also appear in the Venom movie and there’s a good chance that Tom Holland will also appear in the spin-off movie.

See what The Hollywood Reporter said below:

As for the expansion plans, Tom Hardy is starring in Venom, dated for Oct. 5, 2018, which will also feature the villain Carnage. A source says Holland is only contractually obligated to Spider-Man 2 and 3, but the intention is to bring him into the spinoffs and possibly other Marvel films (he is currently shooting Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War).

Carnage is one of Marvel Comics most popular villains and originates from the same symbiote that created Venom. I’ve gone ahead and found a character biography, which you can read below:

Carnage was once a serial killer known as Cletus Kasady and became Carnage after merging with the offspring of the alien symbiote called Venom during a prison breakout. The symbiote amplified his psychotic nature making him even less mentally stable than he had been previously, and therefore even more dangerous. An interesting note is that, unlike Venom, Carnage is a singular entity, referring to himself as “I” instead of “We”, because the symbiote has actually merged into Kasady’s bloodstream.
