Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures just confirmed that production on Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is officially underway in Atlanta. The upcoming instalment will be the next movie in a growing cinematic universe, which includes Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island.
Alongside the announcement, the first plot synopsis for the movie was released, revealing some interesting details about how this cinematic universe will be connected.
“The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
The full cast for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters was also released. The cast includes Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe Sally Hawkins, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.
Godzilla: King Of The Monsters will land in theatres on March 22, 2019!
