The upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is reportedly being held for ransom by a group of hackers who seek to gain money from Disney. The hackers have demanded that an insane amount of money be paid in Bitcoin. Disney will not pay and is currently working with the FBI. Disney CEO Bob Iger did not reveal which movie the hackers had stolen, however, it was later revealed that it was the next Pirates of the Caribbean film. The hackers threatened to release sequences of the film if their demands were not met by Disney. A similar incident recently happened when Netflix was attacked and ten episodes of the upcoming season of Orange Is The New Black were leaked online.
Disney refused to comment on the incident but reports claim that the company will not pay the ransom for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is scheduled for release on May 26.
